About IELTS

International English Language Testing System ( IELTS) is a language proficiency test. The test is for the candidates who wish to work or complete their higher education in english native countries. The exam is conducted by IDP in India.

IELTS has two modules

Academic: For study purpose in countries like Canada, U.K., U.S.A, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland etc.

AGeneral : for PR purpose to work

There are 4 modules of the test

  1. Listening

    IIt is the first module which has 40 questions and the candidates need to solve all the questions from the audio clips in 30 mins+ ( 10 mins extra for Paper & Pen exam )

    1. Part : 1 conversation between two people ( 10 Qs)
    2. Part : 2 One speaker ( 10 Qs)
    3. Part : 3 2- 4 speakers ( 10 Qs)
    4. Part : 4 One speaker ( 10 Qs)
    It has 4 different accents as British, Australian, New Zealand and American.
  2. Reading Module

    Reading Module is a challenge for test takers.It also has 40 questions in 3 different sections. All the questions are objective. This test runs for 60 mins.
  3. Writing

    It is a descriptive module and the candidates are expected to write 2 tasks within 60 mins. Task 1 is a report writing ( AT) or letter writing ( GT) (150- 180 words within 20 mins) Task 2 is essay writing and the candidates should complete the task within 40 mins. The writing module is evaluated with C.C., T.A./R, G.R.A. and L.R.
  4. Speaking

    This module runs for 11 to 14 mins. Furthermore, it is divided into 3 parts as Introduction (4-5 mins ), Cue Card ( 3- 4 ) and 1- 1 ( 4- 5 mins ) The evaluation is done with the help of 4 parameters as Fluency and Coherence, Grammatical Range, Pronunciation and Lexical Resources.
